will go the same way as PIAP.  We need to provide a clear message that the PMCs could
help to provide stakeholder priorities in CSREES grant program RFPs.
Each Center Director made reports regarding their funded projects and other activities.
Handouts were provided detailing the individual regional subcontract review processes.
Norm Nesheim led a discussion regarding the title for individuals who direct the state
information program.  This was not a new discussion but we were able to come to a
consensus that we would all refer to our state subcontractors as “PMC Project Leader.”
The NCPMC has scheduled a regional meeting for April 4-5, 2001, in Indianapolis, IN
and the WRPMC has scheduled a regional workshop for August 28-29, 2001, in Reno,
NV.  The other two regions have not decided whether or when they might hold a regional
meeting.
Harold Coble discussed the need to provide a vision for the expansion of the PMCs in FY
2003.  We should get as many people as possible in your region to be part of this.  In
what format does CSREES/OPMP/ARS need this information?   We need to identify
criteria and put it into being.  We should get a general consensus from the regions on
potential boundaries for regions.  Deadline for this would be by the end of March or
April.  Harold Coble and Dennis Kopp will come up with a draft of possible center
boundaries for up to 10-12 Centers for FY 2003 budget consideration.
The next PMC meeting will be May 23 & 24, 2001 in Washington D.C.  Agenda items
for the next meeting will include the following:
PDP program
OPMP – Strategic Plan
OPMP – Budget information
Agroecological regions
How to link Centers into other funding sources
RFP Priority for USDA grant programs
Web site standards
Meeting adjourned at 4:00 PM
