Description of the Regional IPM Centers

2006 - In February, 2006, the Centers had an external review of their efforts to date. The report concludes that the IPM Centers have been successful individually and as a network. 2004 - A strategic direction for USDA was developed, the National Roadmap for IPM, with the Regional IPM Centers as a key part of the process. The Roadmap can be found at http://www.ipmcenters/IPMRoadMap.pdf

2002 - The three year transition of Regional Pest Management Centers resulted in a new Request for Applications for the next round of Regional Integrated Pest Management Centers, to be funded starting in September, 2003. Text of Agriculture Deputy Secretary Richard Rominger's press release announcing formation of four regional Pest Management Centers

1999 - Funding for a network of Pest Management Centers was authorized by Section 406 of the Agricultural Research, Extension, and Education Reform Act of 1998.As the result of a competitive process, four Pest Management Centers spread geographically across the United States were formed.
